Political power to keep
humans in control.
Humans in Control Action organizes to prevent AGI and the catastrophic risks it could pose. We work through advocacy, scorecards, and pressure campaigns.
Meet our teamWhy we exist
Whether to build AGI is a decision about humans’ future. We believe the public must have the power to say no.
Our goal is an international agreement, including China, to prevent AGI development. We also advocate for licensing backed by independent safety evidence and a prohibition on recursive self-improvement.
Those demands need political force behind them. Humans in Control Action exists to organize that pressure: making the case to policymakers, scrutinizing leaders’ records, and campaigning for action.
Our first project, The AI Primary, puts potential presidential candidates’ public positions on AI in one place. We want that record to inform the public, secure commitments, and shape the debate.
A shared mission.
A political purpose.
Humans in Control Action is the 501(c)(4) sister organization of Humans in Control. We share the goal of keeping humans in control of AI.
Action’s focus is advocacy and political pressure. Humans in Control builds public understanding and grassroots participation. They are separate organizations; contributions to Action are not tax-deductible as charitable contributions.
